Being the patriotic patriots that we are, Actual Size just finished a project with our friends at The Century Council (hey guys!) for the 4th of July, an eCard reminding everyone to be safe this weekend as we celebrate our great nation's birthday. We drew on our vast picnic experience and childhood memories of Independence Day to create a 'moment in time' reminiscent of Anytown, USA (which is known for its cool breezes). After the process of setting our nostalgia to music, I think we're all ready for grilling out and watching the fireworks this weekend.
Check it out and help spread the word. Be safe and have fun this weekend!

Although she is still with us in spirit, Elizabeth or "Lizzybar" will be primarily working for Actual Size remotely. She will remain in constant contact with the ASC team and will continue to monitor all client messaging. This new arrangement is completely "unrelated" to Elizabeth's CMU post from last week but for those of you keeping count, that is 4 Penn Staters, 1 Tartan again at the Actual Size headquarters.

As a Carnegie Mellon alumnus, I am particularly proud to welcome Karl Huang, Actual Size's new intern! Karl is a Masters of Information Systems Management student at CMU's Heinz School. With his presence at Actual Size, Carnegie Mellon is that much closer to becoming the preferred alma mater around the office. Mary, Bob, Nate, and Joe seem nervous. Today is Karl's first day, and he will be working with Maurice and Nate on our web and interactive projects. Go Tartans!

Today, along with a quarter million of our closest friends, we celebrated the second championship of the 2009 for our fair city. The parade for the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins (the 'guins as I like to call 'em) came by Actual Size World Headquarters around 12:15 today. We watched from the observation deck, as the crowds jostled for position beneath us. We were quite worried about the Cup at one point, but it was apparently a tin foil replica that was dropped on the street. Whew.
We'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Penguins on a great season, and hope that some of that rubs off on our beloved, somewhat downtrodden Pirates. Maybe they all need to grow beards?

Actual Size has a new cyber skyscraper to call home, showcasing our creativity from top to bottom! Our World Headquarters now spans hundreds of floors of a gleaming, 2D architectural triumph. Joe calls the building "his masterpiece," and may or may not be storing stockpiles of peanut butter, jelly, and Chef Boyardee in the mail room. Bob lobbied for a corner office full of amenities and inclusion as "corporate overlord," but was eventually convinced to remain on Floor 52 with the rest of us.
